New in 2024
Short term Rentals
- If an individual operates a short-term rental business (rental term of less than 90 days) there may be special licensing and/or bylaws effecting this type of business’ ability to operate in its jurisdiction. If the short-term rental business does not meet these requirements, it is possible that CRA will deny the expenses related to their rental business. For example, in Saskatoon, there is a requirement to obtain a permit in some cases when offering a home for rent for less than 30 days.
- If you are operating a business or rental unit that operates on a digital platform – Uber or Airbnb for example – the digital platform will provide you with a statement showing what was reported to CRA on your behalf.
